Abstract

This study presents a systematic review of five reputable international journals examining Islamic banking from multiple dimensions, covering human development impact, Islamic financial literacy, corporate governance, ESG performance, and sustainability. Employing a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach based on PRISMA protocol standards alongside descriptive-comparative analysis, this study identifies theoretical and methodological threads across the five studies. The results indicate that Islamic banking benefits are long-term and contextual, spiritual intelligence plays a more dominant role than financial literacy in driving customer interest, layered oversight strengthens reporting transparency, and sustainability adoption in Islamic banks tends to be symbolic. This study implies the need for integration between Islamic values, effective governance, and authentic sustainability strategies in the development of the Islamic financial industry.
